The policy is predicated on the Draft National Education Policy 2019, called the Committee for Draft National Education Policy - former Chairman of Indian Space Research Organization, Dr. K. it had been handed over to the Ministry of Human Resource Development on 15 December under the chairmanship of Kasturirangan. 2018


The four-part National Education Policy includes schooling (Part I); education (Part II); 'Other key areas of focus' (Part III) like course , promotion of Indian languages and online education; And, Making it '(Part IV), which discusses the implementation of the policy.

The policy seeks to restructure the varsity curriculum and education during a new '5 + 3 + 3 + 4' design, to form school education relevant to the requirements and interests of learners at various development stages - a 'foundational stage' ( Five) years), a 'preliminary stage' (three years), a 'middle stage' (three years) and a 'higher stage' (covering four years, grades nine, 10, 11 and 12).





It aims to realize 'universal basic literacy and numeracy' found in primary schools by 2025. For this, the Ministry of Human Resource Development will establish a National Mission on Founder Literacy and Numerology.


Public and personal schools - apart from schools managed, aided or controlled by the central government - are going to be evaluated and recognized on an equivalent criteria, benchmarks and processes.


The gross enrollment ratio from preschool to education should be one hundred pc by 2030. (GER is defined because the ratio of total enrollment in education - no matter age - to the official population during a given academic year , expressed as a percentage). The policy seeks to standardize school curricula for Indian signing throughout the country.


The Government of India will found out a 'Gender-Inclusion Fund' to supply equal and quality education to all or any girls and transgender students. All education institutions are going to be held as a 'not-for-profit' unit for an equivalent standards of audit and disclosure, this policy states. If the institution generates a surplus, it'll be remade into the tutorial sector.

The policy states that each one education institution' (HEI) aims to be multi-disciplinary by 2040. By 2030, there'll be a minimum of one multi-disciplinary HEI in or around each district. The policy aims to extend the gross enrollment ratio in education to 50 percent from 26.3 percent in 2018 to 2035.

The HEI will feature a two-year master's program for those that have completed a three-year undergraduate program, one-year students who have completed a four-year undergraduate program, or a five-year integrated bachelor's And master's programs.


M.Phil. Programs are going to be discontinued.

The policy states that 'high performing' Indian universities are going to be encouraged to line up campuses in other countries. Similarly, selected universities - like those within the top 100 universities within the world - are going to be encouraged to figure in India.

A National Research Foundation are going to be established to facilitate "merit-based but equitable" peer-reviewed research funding

The policy states that the middle and therefore the state will work together to extend public investment in education from 6 percent of GDP to the present 4.43 percent.
